The Lockport Township Fire and Ambulance District had the distinct honor of welcoming our new Fire Chief, Robert Cronholm, to the department on May 6, 2005. 

The  department has 70 paid professionals on staff and 3 paid-on-call professionals, for a total of 73 personnel including:

  • Full-time Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Battalion Chiefs, Lieutenants, Firefighters, Firefighter/Paramedics

  • Full-time Director of Fire Prevention

  • Crisis Trained Chaplain 

  • Certified Fire Instructors

  • Certified Fire Inspectors

  • American Heart Association CPR Instructors

  • Hazardous Material Response Team Member

Lockport Township's firefighter and life-saving skills are developed and honed through many hours of intensive training and practical experience such as:

  • Continuing education

  • Proficiency testing on equipment

  • Paramedic training (700-800 hours)

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training (CPR)

Split-second response depends as much on machinery as on manpower.  Keeping both in peak condition is a priority. 

We provide consistent and regular physical maintenance of stations, grounds and equipment.

We require a physical fitness program of aerobics and endurance conditioning for our personnel.
