CPR & First Aid Classes
You know how to call 911, but do you know CPR? The CPR and First Aid courses offered through the Lockport Township Fire Protection District will teach you the skills that could save the life of a family member, friend, or member of your community. Learn CPR and make a difference.
• Heartsaver/AED CPR:
You will learn techniques to save adult, child and infant victims of cardiac or respiratory arrest. This course teaches one-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), rescue breathing, how to treat a choking victim and the use of an AED. You also will receive valuable tips on the prevention of heart attack and stroke.
For a 2-year certification:
$25.00 for Residents
$50.00 Fee for Non-residents
• Heartsaver First Aid:
Participants learn basic first aid, for adults, children, and infants. The First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Content includes general principals of emergency care, medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies.
For a 2-year certification: $75.00
• BLS for Healthcare Providers:
Health care professionals will learn the required techniques for resuscitating adult, child, and infant victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest by one or two rescuers using a BVM. Included in the curriculum are techniques for clearing an obstructed airway in conscious and unconscious patients and use of an AED.
For a 2-year certification: $55.00
Individual registrations are done through the Lockport Fire District at 815-838-3287. Classes are held the third Saturday of each month. A Heartsaver CPR/AED Class will be held on even months and a BLS Healthcare Provider Class will be held on odd months.
