CPR Classes

 

CPR & First Aid Classes


You know how to call 911, but do you know CPR? The CPR and First Aid courses offered through the Lockport Township Fire Protection District will teach you the skills that could save the life of a family member, friend, or member of your community. Learn CPR and make a difference.

Courses Offered:

Heartsaver CPR/AED (3rd Saturday in February, April, June, August, October, December) - $50:

This class is for the lay rescuer (non-healthcare) that wants to learn techniques to save adult, child and infant victims of cardiac or respiratory arrest. This course teaches one-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to treat a choking victim and how to use an AED. This is a 2 year certification.

Class Length: 4 hours

                                           

BLS for Healthcare Providers (3rd Saturday in January, March, May, July, September, November) - $60:

This is a class designed for healthcare professionals that will learn the required techniques for resuscitating adult, child and infant victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest by one or two rescuers. Included in the curriculum are techniques for clearing an obstructed airway in conscious and unconscious patients, performing rescue breathing, using a Bag Valve Mask and using an AED. This is a 2 year certification.

Class length: 4 hours

Heartsaver CPR/AED & First Aid (Privately scheduled groups of 5 or more students) - $75:

This class is for the lay rescuer (non-healthcare) that wants to learn techniques to save adult, child and infant victims of cardiac or respiratory arrest. This course teaches one-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to treat a choking victim and how to use an AED. Participants will also learn basic first aid skills. The First Aid course teaches how to manage illnesses and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Content includes general principles of emergency care for medical, traumatic and environmental emergencies. This is a 2 year certification.

Class length: 6 hours

  • Individual registrations are done through the Lockport Fire District at 815-838-3287.

  • Payment is required at time of registration and your place in class is not secured until payment is received.

  • Registrations are non-refundable

  • AHA recommends students  be at least 9 years of age to participate
