All Hazards Emergency Service
Over the past 40 years, the Fire Service has evolved from being focused solely on fire suppression to becoming an All-Hazards Emergency Service. Our community expects that, regardless of the type of emergency, highly trained responders will be available to answer the call. The Lockport Township Fire Protection District is a top-tier emergency service agency in Illinois, with expertise in numerous specializations. To maintain proficiency across such diverse areas, providing high-level, realistic training is essential. This dedicated training facility will ensure that our team remains prepared for any challenge.
The Lockport Township Fire Protection District is proposing the construction of a unique Public Safety Training & Maintenance Facility, centrally located within the Fire District on the Stateville Property in Crest Hill. This joint Police and Fire Training facility will meet the training needs of both the Fire District and local police agencies, all at no additional cost to the residents we are sworn to protect. The facility will enhance operations and reduce response times for specialty incidents such as water rescue, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue. Additionally, it will provide space for emergency vehicle maintenance, accommodating the Fire District’s vehicle upkeep needs while allowing for expansion to serve other departments with the goal of the facility to become self-sustaining in the future.

This facility is designed to support training for the mitigation of the following hazards:
Structural Firefighting
Hazardous Materials response
Technical Rescue operations
Water rescue emergencies (including dive operations, ROV, boat operations, and surface ice rescue)
Auto Extrication
Search and Rescue operations (including drone and canine teams)
Emergency Medical incidents
Cause and Origin investigations
